Milking Room
|
Our milking room was designed for multiple uses but of course milking is it's primary purpose. With a solid concrete floor, painted/sealed walls, metal ceiling and floor drain, clean up is now a breeze. Our milking room is conveniently located next to the milking parlor, making the transfer of milk quick and easy. The front of the milking room is open to the interior of the barn giving easy access to the does waiting to be milked. As we all know it can sometimes be difficult navigating does in and out of the milking room. With multiple gates and pens adjacent to the milk room we are able to control the flow of traffic by designating one gate as an entrance and another an exit. This setup has transformed what could normally be a confusing and frustrating procedure into a calm, smooth process.
As an added benefit we were able to hang our large white marker board in this central location making it convenient for recording important information such as dis-budding and CD&T inoculation schedules. It works great for keeping track of to-do lists and events we want to remember. We learned a long time ago not to rely on our memories. :-( |
